mein kleiner grüner Kaktus II

I know, there are very few posts on this blog lately...
Most of my time is spent on other projects at the moment. Never the less, here's one more little cactus.

"Los Reyes" united.

OK, so here they are all three together...

Melchior de "Los Reyes"

This is the last, and the most complicated to make,
of the "Los  Reyes" series.
First I wanted to use only two prongs for the setting of the side citrines. Unfortunately that was not enough, the stones were not fixed as should, so I had to redo the complete prongs at te side and replace them with three prongs for each stone. This way they are secure.
Sterling silver, copper, large pale citrine and
four beautiful warm orange citrines.

Caspar de "Los Reyes"

The second ring (of three) is now finished.
Sterling silver, red copper with oxidation and natural red topaze.
One more to go.

Balthazar de "Los Reyes" with patina

I listened to good advice and did a LOS patina and than gently polished it.
Sterling silver, copper with oxidation (patina) and smokey quartz.

Specialist advice requested...

The first of three rings called "Los Reyes"
This one is Balthazar.
It is almost finished, but I need some advice on the oxidation of the copper. I do not like the bright colour of the brushed copper, so I need oxidation on it. But:
- Should I wait for the natural oxidation to appear ?
- Should I do a black oxidation with lever of sulfer ?
- Should I (try to) do a green oxidation with vineger ?

All comments are welcome !

Experimenting with copper and oxidation...

I used oxidation on silver before, but never on copper.
I love the warm colour of copper, especially when it has a dark oxidation.
It looks a lot like bronze, no?
I had fun making these. Hope they will sell fast so I can do some more...
