No, not assembled.

Why do so many people think that the jewellery of this series is assembled from existing pieces? Well let me tell you: They are not assembled !
I know that one can buy parts, often made in China or India to assemble necklaces and earrings, but this is really not the case here.
Every piece is cut out from a plate of silver. I also draw my own wires.
Anyway, one can say only so much with words. I decided to do a photoseries of the next piece I am going to make to show the different stages in the process of making it.
So keep in touch, I will put it on my blog in the next days !

Here's an other piece of the series.
This pendant (in my fantasy) is a key to a old chest with dreams...

And here is pendant nr 4 !

Lost Dream Machine Pendant nr. 4

A lot of sweat went into this one. It was very tricky to solder all the different parts together (and there are a few!) without melting the solder of previous ones. I changed the design several time in the process. Some parts turned out to be to weak, so I had to secure them. Other parts... I did not like, so I removed them, sometimes replaced them with something else..
Anyway, here's the result.
Hopefully some potential buyer likes it too.. :-)

The first of the new series

Here it is, the very first piece of my new LOST DREAM MACHINE series.
Until now I made six items; Three pendants, one ring and two pairs of earrings.
With this series I am doing something different than before. I don't know exactly why... Guess I needed a change after devoting a lot of my creative time to the more contemporary work. This does not mean that I stop my experimental work, just that I have an urge to do other things at the side.
One should not exclude the other...

What about the Dream Machine?
Do you remember (that is, if you are about my age) the sort of "ancient science fiction"? I mean the science fiction as in Jules Vernes stories. Can you imagine the images that go with that? It is a particular art, a distinct way to be ancient and science fiction at the same time. Time machines, Dr Who, that sort of thing. It is that style, that atmosphere that I try to catch in this series. A bit like Steampunk, only not necessarily with found objects but with pieces I design and produce myself.
If you still have no idea of what I am talking about, maybe looking at my pieces will help.

The Lost Dream Machine series is to be sold online. So if you are interested ...  ;-)
For European customers i opened a shop at Dawanda, and for the USA there is my Etsy shop. Both shop offer the same items so it is simply a question of where you are based. You can find the links to both on the right side of this page. Just click to get there...

Well... Here it is !

My "Lost Dream Machine" blog is now a fact.

This is my first blog-entry ever so I am very new to this and will need some time to find my way around here (so give me a break)...
Anyway, this blog will be a little about me and a lot about my brandnew "Lost Dream Machine" jewellery series. With this series I am doing something completely different than any of my (jewellery)work in the past, so I devoted this website to just that.
It is intended to be a link between myself and those who have an interest in this part of my work.
